i know this is double the size, but i have to say that the 1Gb version is useless.
I had it for one month before the thing gave up the ghost.

We bought this in February as a last minute emergency when another (different brand) MP3 player died just a week before we went on holiday. I don't know what other people do with there computer software or hardware but we just plugged it in to the USB port of our Acer running XP/SP2 and it worked. It also works connected to a Dell Inspiron. No other changes were required. Drag and Drop works. We used it for two weeks on holiday and since - no problem. It's cheap and effective, and it's not a p-pod needing other expensive or proprietary bits.

I use this product at the beach in Brazil. Normally an MP3 player lasts for about 6 months in the sand and sun. My original m250 is still going strong after more than 3 years.This model has a radio, an extra plus.
At the beach and on many aircraft a battery AAA/AA is best if you do not have access to a charging point. Unfortunately manufacturers are going for thin sleek looks rather than the practicality of having no power source for many days.I know there are solar chargers, but try leaving one in the sun for 6 hours 3 days a week. This is one of the few left as this model is no longer made.
The joystick can be difficult to use, but you get use to it. JG
Good at first then the problems start...., 2008-09-28
I as thriled with this little MP3 Player at first. However after a few months it's playing up. Some tracks are stuck on it...I wiped all tracks from the player to add new ones and found some of the old ones are still on it. But they don't show up in windows media player when I synch the device. If you load alot of tracks at once it will take a long time to rebuild the library. Sometimes it powers off halfway through. When you switch back on it constantly says 'rebuilding library' then powers off like a never ending cycle. Also the battery life went down quickly if you use the forward & back buttons. But if you just had it playing without selecting tracks individually the battery lasted longer. Overall I wouldn't have bought it if I had known it would only last 4 months before going wrong.
dont pay the asking price, 2008-04-26
this is a cracking little mp3 player but for some reason the price has jumped. i bought it brand new off amazon for less than £15 in feb 2008.
