old timer, 2010-05-21
i originally recived this ipod back in 2005-2006? as a christmas preseant. back when it cost double the price of pods today and after reading the comments stating that they dont last i just had to write my experience.
"old timer" (yeah it has a pet name ^^') is my first ipod, and has had non stop use for over 4 years and hes still going strong and currently sat on my dock. im amazed my self how long its lasted for everyone around me seems to have problems with ipods. however ive always looked after it and it still looks like the day it came out of the box. it has been syncd numerous times between both mac and windows in the past, although it is only syncd a few times a year. yes it has had a few problems in its time, it froze for the first time a few months ago and i paniced but after light googling and research into what was wrong with it all it needed was restarting, then it was fine. no data was lost, there wasnt any need to take it back to apple. there was no need for exchange.
obviously over the years ive bought new apple ear phones. but im not going to complain about that. the ear phones are fantastic quality and worth the price tag.
i would like to upgrade to a 160gb, but i dont know if i can part with the pod ive got, despite the fact that i need more space for my music and videos.
but please when you get an ipod, simply look after them. too many people i know have dropped them (one occaision in glue), thrown them around and their damaged. and obviously nothings going to last ten minutes when treat like that, just keep them safe. problems may occur with compatability of files on the ipod, but i have never had any problems...let itunes do it for you =D
i would certainly recommend to anyone! if you purchase this ipod i hope that you will enjoy it for as long as you can, that there is no hard drive problems and that it lasts. just look after your ipod...simples =D

The product was as expected - Perfect in every way. I am going away for a few months and my iPod will be my main source of entertainment and so far (pre-departure) it has kept me happy.

Well, what can I say? I've had this for 2 and a half years, it still works and is in almost perfect condition, apart from a few scratches! It has survived being accidentally thrown against walls and dropped in puddles, and with a decent pair of headphones can still produce a sound of real quality. It also has more than enough space for all the music I've accumulated over the years! People say iPods are flimsy and overrated, but if you take good care of it they will stay doing their jobs for many years. I'm very glad I bought this instead of another mp3 player!
