 Good, but has broken within the year., 2009-10-19
I've had the 16Gb version of the Cruzer extreme for around 10 months. I'm impressed with the read and write speeds as they seem to be as advertised. However build quality is lacking, it has a nifty dust cap feature, but due to it's overall size it catches when being used in various laptops and transported around, the connector has started to fail and it needs to be supported (by it's padded case) in order to maintain connectivity. As a static drive this would be brilliant, but if you are mobile, use different machines and dish out moderate abuse then this drive is not recommended.
For the price (it's very expensive) it's not worth it. The U3 security features are a waste as I end up using TrueCrypt to create a secure partition on the drive, U3 cannot be used with Mac's either! It's a shame as the overall speed and quality is very good, but now I'm forced to consider another flash USB.
Excellent transfer speeds, a little on the large side, 2010-04-24
The transfer speeds for this drive are superb. Not the fastest on the market but deffinatly the best value for money in my opinion. The slide takes a bit of practice to open and close in a smooth way but i like the fact it doesn't have a 'cap' as these always tend to get lost. The only downside is the size. It's a little on the long side in comparison with others on the market but I this is the tradeoff for the speed, capacity and price. Overall a very good pen drive and the best I've ever used (I've used in excess of 100 flash drives due to the job I do).
Fast and fades, 2009-10-10
Nice product and fast performance. But i use my memory sticks daily and keep it in my pocket. Its lasted less than 6 months, so in my opinion isn't up to the job in terms of build quality. If its being kept in a drawer than it will do the job well. Switched not to a Lacie Key Drive which (on my keyring) as performed well for nearly a year and is still going strong, despite heavy use and lack of care!
great memory stick, 2010-01-13
This is great - it looks awesome, and the write speed is fantastic - make sure you have readyboost activated on your computer. I have another SanDisk without readyboost, and you can definitely notice a difference. Great for running games off too.
It is a quick one, 2009-12-19
I was looking not only for a high capacity memory stick, but also one I could use in a high speed way. The product fullfils totally what I was looking for, which was being able to copy a lot of information and very quick
