 Good, but not the best, 2009-07-22
The Sandisk Cruzer Micro 8GB, as with the other Sandisk USB drives I have purchased, is a good quality item. Read and write rates are fairly fast and the drive is sturdy. There are a couple of negative points to this one though: the cap does not easily sit on the other end of the drive when the drive is in use and the cover slides up and down when the drive is inserted into and removed from the USB port. Owning both, I would personally buy one of the Cruzer U3 drives instead - where this is simply good, they are excellent - one of mine has been through the washing machine and come out working perfectly, there is no removable cap to lose, plus the added benefits of U3.

Very good... but please.... Sandisk..... make the cap a dark colour, as the clear one is invisible as soon as it is removed and set down!

Great price, great size and tough and proved reliable.
Bought over two over a years ago and used mine nearly every day for transferring valuable data,(huge spreadsheets, presentations, word documents photo's and music.)I carry it around on my key ring all the time. It has replaced the four I used to use (all different makes from 512K to 2GB). I now only need one - only to one to keep secure.
The stick is in an out of Pc's and laptops all day long if I leave my office I goes with me. Because of its micro size it is less likely to be knocked in the USB drives too.
My son had managed to destroy a couple of his other USB's within a couple of months but not this one.
It worked out of the packet without the need to load drivers in Win 2000, XP and VISTA Pc's, and to my amazement first time in my old Dell Laptop (almost doubling its memory potential)now running Xubuntu O/S,(Linux software to the uninitiated)without needing any drivers loading! my Son also uses his in his Linux Netbook running the latest Ubuntu operating software.
My time considered recommendation is buy it.

Quick read speeds and quick write speeds. I've had quicker but for the price I can't really complain. Good quality drive from SanDisk again.
