Couldn't get it recognised by 6 computers despite following the advice on the Sandisk forum, so gave it up as a bad job. I wish I'd known about the recognition problems (it's clearly a known fault) before buying. Refund was painless though, cheers Amazon!

I have had two of this Item but both proved faulty.Amazon were great to deal with and I got refund very Quickly so I would deal with Amazon again
Sansa Clip 8GB - This is the Goods, 2010-03-16
Important for me was the sound quality when choosing an MP3 player - sound and a big enough storage capacity. This little beauty has it all! I couldn't believe such a small item could perform the way the Sansa does. The music delivered via the ear pieces is crystal clear and rich toned. The visual display is perfectly adequate for my purposes. One small thing to note is that the recharger needs a firm push into the Sansa slot. I was a bit timid really, but there was no trouble once I got the hang of it - just a firm push is what is required. So far I have recorded my own CDs - the classical ones mostly: symphonies, concertos, choral works, recitals etc. The reproduction is remarkably good. As for the radio: I haven't used it. I'll get round to it one day I suppose. Aghhhh! My wife has now commandeered my lovely little Sansa, so I shall have to buy myself another. Hey-ho, the wind and the rain.
PS. This is set up for the PC. It won't work with the Mac so I'm told.
Sansa Clip MP3 Player, 2010-03-11
Love it. I wanted something to use on a run and whilst travelling. It's small, compact and easy to use. You can organise your music into albums, artists, songs, genres and you can even rate your favourites too. I wanted plenty of space as I was travelling to Australia, so I got the 8GB version. I like the small window (recommended) so you can see what is playing and the "hold" button, so that the your settings e.g. volumn will not alter should you accidently move the button. I was so impressed that I bought 2 others for presents. [I have not used the FM radio]
Buying this was a big mistake, 2010-03-08
This was purchased by a member of my family for my wife's 50th. I selected it for them as I was impressed by the so called 'easy drag and drop' option.
We NEVER got this feature to work properly. After months of thinking this was operator error on our behalf, I contacted Sandisk. After a multitude of emails and complicated internet 'log ins' Sandisk finally agreed that the device WAS faulty. However the whole technical support site changed before we could arrange to have it sent back-we could not retrieve the original helpdesk messages. By this time I was so frustrated I just sent the device back to the Sandisk shop with an explanatory letter. Admittedly the person who had purchased it could not find the receipt, so I guessed they might not replace it. HOWEVER they did not even reply, even after a further letter, which I regard as extremely poor courtesy/customer service. I regard this purchase as a very expensive gamble. My wife now has an Ipod Nano which she loves.
