A little on the slow side., 2010-07-29
I've been using this after a series of Sandisk Cruzer Micros (2, 4 & 16GB), and this 32gb Cruzer non-Micro is noticeably slower than these other drives. It seems as well built etc. as the others, however, but there are a few little hitches and pauses in general use which balance out the convenience of having 32GB in your pocket which aren't present on the Cruzer Micros. It's nothing disastrous, but annoying, and I'm unsure whether the flash memory on these other drives is just a lower spec.
Either way, it seems to do exactly as advertised. Just a little more slowly.

I decided to buy the largest capacity for this memory stick as I have just recently got married and have stacks and stacks of wedding photos saved on my computer which people keep demanding to see. Trying to fit a huge >8GB folder onto a small memory stick is no mean feat and instead I was finding I was having to select onto certain photos when taking them e.g. to show my mother-in-law who was not happy that she couldn't see the whole lot and have them all transferred onto her system.
With this stick there is all the storage I could ever need for my wedding photos and all my other photos and videos, along with my music collection. All of which I like to keep backed up just in case tragedy was to strike and my computer was lost or accidentally damaged beyond repair!
Fantastic fast transfer to and from the computer and all contained on a single, compact, handy stick that can be slipped into a pocket or bag to easily transfer data from one place to the other. Perfect!

Totally solid and reliably little piece of equipment. Great capacity, easy to use and well made. Definitely would recommend.
Not as good as the previous version, 2010-08-13
I guess it works ok as a simple flash drive, but the one I bought at the end of 2009 was much better. It came with the U3 software already installed which included a synchronisation program for back up work. It appears that Sandisk are no longer installing this U3 software and for me it has lost its attraction.I returned the latest one unused.
No good for backup, 2010-06-06
I purchased this item to backup my documents and settings. 32GB should be enough and it would be except.........the pen is FAT 32 formatted, this means it will only back up 4GB! It doesn't say anything about that in the specs and it should do. So, if you want this item just to store stuff - that is fine but if you want it to backup your computer, forget it unless you have pretty much nothing in your documents and settings.
