Disappointed, 2010-07-02 The button behind the scroll wheel sits too high. It is always in the way and rubs when you spin the wheel.
The scroll wheel is also the middle button but doesn't always work on the first click. The wheel is able to move and make a click sound without actuating the switch.
The socket for charging is tiny and tight and the plug goes in at an unusual angle. It takes several attempts to connect.
It does track on glass but it is very imprecise and there's a long lag when it wakes up after inactivity.
Logitech have taken a backward step here.
super, especially as a replacement for any odler mouse!, 2010-06-08 I am used to logitech products, i love them, and as always am not dissapointed with this product.
i love the ability ot charge while still using the mouse, the cord is plenty long enough, and the angle of the cable also means it doesn't drag on the desk. i find all of the features super. i bought this to replace my age old mx510, i was toying wiht the idea of buying another one of these as mine was well worn out, it works fine still, but i fancied an upgrade :)
i would highly rate this item to anyone, also the tiny connector for conecting it to the USB port is ideal for use with a laptop and a home PC as it is supplied with an extension cable - no more reaching around the back of your tower box to plug it in when you get home from using your laptop else where!
ubuntu + MX are friends, 2010-06-28 I just plugged the dongle into the free USB and the mouse instantly worked with Lucid Lynx (Ubuntu 10.04). 5 buttons are working without any configuration. I guess it would take a lot of effort to make the rest of the buttons working, so I just stick with the 5 buttons. Good product
Very nice mouse!, 2010-06-30 Incredibly precise and comfortable mouse with a nice scroll wheel. It has a clickable button where your thumb rests to activate Application Switcher (or something) in Windows and in Mac OS X it shows all open windows (Expose). Very nice mouse, although at first I wondered why sometimes if I move the mouse horizontally (like right to left) it sometimes goes downwards a little and not straight horizontally, but I figured out this was because of the way I moved the mouse as I slowed down the mouse towards the end of moving the mouse in a horizontal position. Basically I wasn't keeping the mouse straight while moving horizontally at first. I'm just letting others know incase you experience this and think there's something wrong with the accuracy of the mouse! :)
Overall a very nice mouse, incredibly precise tracking / mouse speed in Mac OS X (unlike some other laser mice out there), and of course Windows too. Highly recommended.
Another superb product from Logitech, with a minor flaw., 2010-06-04 What can I say?! Logitech's product standard is once again incredible but I'll start with the shipping. I ordered this mouse on a Monday along with a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 3000 (a fine product also) and the package was dispatched from Amazon on the Wednesday. The estimated delivery time was the following Wednesday but as usual, Amazon's were extremely efficient and I received my items on Friday(5 days before the estimated delivery!)
To refer back to my previous point, Logitech's excellent product standard is present in the mouse, making it an extremely comfortable and enjoyable experience when using. My usage for this mouse entails PC gaming and Internet browsing and in these areas, this MX Performance excels! The packaged software allows great customization for each button and its design fits firmly into one's hand with ease and comfort. Also accompanying the mouse is a leather pouch for carrying some of Logitech's very thoughtful accessories : a USB extender, a USB to micro-USB charging cable for the mouse and a USB to mains power plug adapter. One element of this mouse which should be acknowledged is the scroll wheel and how with a simple click of a button, it changes to a "free flowing" wheel which makes scrolling long and tedious pages or texts a breeze, in fact it is possibly my favorite feature!
However as the title suggests, I do have one minor gripe with the mouse although not one big enough to deter one from this fine product a . As it is a wireless mouse and runs on a rechargeable battery, it is going to try and conserve power, yes? This feature of the can be sometimes a little bit annoying especially when you are watching a video for 3 or 4 minutes and you do not move your mouse, it tends to go into standby mode. When the video is finished, all you have to do is give the mouse a little shake and it's back functioning.
All-in-all, this is THE best mouse I have ever used and hope to keep using it for a very long time. I urge you to not buy cheaper mice (we've all been there!) but instead spend that little bit extra and in return, the Logitech MX Performance gives you an enjoyable experience well worth every penny and surpasses its competition. They really have gotten it right!
