Unsurpisingly excellent, 2010-09-01 My first NIKON Nikon L22 Digital Camera - Black (12MP, 3.6x Optical Zoom) 3 inch LCD. I was going to choose a SONY CYBERSHOT but it was out of stock so I bought the NIKON. A professional brand (like CANON) that has consolidated decades of experience, knowledge and quality into a COOLPIX (terrible name but a great camera). The camera is solid, metal-body, styled (but not fussy).
The menu navigation is so simple and extensive (you can select different photographic subjects; everything from close-up, fireworks, portrait with intuitive "face identification" software, dark, indoors, etc.) for every possible (except underwater...) situation.
Managing images is easy, and the panaramic feature is great as you can "match-up" the last shot (using a "ghosting-image" at the edge of the viewfinder) to fit with the next (so you can collate 360 degrees worth of images). The pack comes with a CD-ROM manual, a software disc for your PC, a wrist strap, two AA batteries. The screen is impressive as is the Pixel resolution. Impressive.
Other impressive features: There are audio settings (click of buttons and clicking when you take a photo) to turn on or off, and an image "date imprint" that you can also turn on or off if you don't want the date to appear on the photo print.
It would great if it came with a "case" but it does (so that's the next purchase). It's small enough to fit in a jeans pocket.
Overall, for £67.00 I would say "EXCELLENT VALUE for an EXCELLING DIGITAL CAMERA".

NEED A PERSONAL TRAINER?, 2010-09-01 NOT IF YOU HAVE THIS LENS!
your probably used to having a stupidly long lens weighing you down while on long walks
yes they have their advantages , but the lenses wont make you any healthyer :(
the 50mm 1.8 nikkor lens really reinvents photography for people who are used to being able to twist and compose an image.
with this lens you will find yourself moving around and thinking about composition more.
in some conditions the lens is actually too good , i find myself using exposures of 1/4000 during normal daylight hours in sunlight and around 1/1000 in shadows meaning if you arnet careful your images may become overexposed.
the depth of feild range is also one to watch as while in the 1.8 setting focus points must be watched , i normally use it around f8
works great with a nikon d90 and the build quality is probably the same as or better than that of the camera body , feeling almost like a metal body lens.
why didnt i buy this lens earlyer?
:)

- High-performance 3.6x zoom lens designed specifically for use with Nikon digital SLR sensors
- Vibration Reduction (VR) stabilization system enables more flexible hand-held shooting
- Nikon's exclusive SWM (Silent Wave Motor) for fast, precise, and super-quiet autofocus
- ED glass and aspherical lens elements minimize chromatic aberration, astigmatism, and other forms of distortion
Great lens, 2010-09-01 Improved my ability to zoom into locations etc. Use it more than the original lens I bought with my Nikon. Recommend it as a supplement and as a main lens.

Nikon Remote Control for Coolpix 8400 (FFW-002-AA)
shoot away !, 2010-08-17 great little remote, i've only tried it indoors and it works infront, behind and on the side of it! not sure about the price as I bought it for around £8.99 off amazon only a few weeks ago! you will have to adjust some settings on your camera for it to work though, I have a Nikon D5000. It also comes with a little case that you can strap on your camera strap.
