This 'purchase' was in fact a replacement for an identical camera purchased at Christmas. The original had a problem with the shutter which came apart. It didn't worry me to much as I have had several Canon cameras in the past and these things can happen. The camera itself is compact, efficient and is generally with me most of the time due to its size allowing quick photos without any hassle. At the end of the day, you are unlikely to take masterpieces with it, but for most users needs it will more than do the job.
Nothing to do with the camera, but a reason to shop with Amazon is the extremely quick and hassle free replacement that was arranged - extremely impressed as I have never had to return a product before.

There are some good reviews about this camera so I won't repeat them.
I just want to mention the battery on this thing is unbelievable after taking multiple videos and many pics the juice bar was still charged. Quite scary actually.
I bought the Verbatim 44031 16GB HD Video SDHC Class 6 Card (class 6) to go with it. If you are doing a lot of Video by the way you will need at least class 6. For DSLRs you should go class 10!!! go Transcend, they are the best value/performance. I have 2 of those for my file transfers.
I bought this camera as my old but reliable, Canon G2 got stolen on vacation. I miss that camera. Anyway a new start. Should hold me over till I get the 550D DSLR can't wait. Paid [...] for this camera. What a steal.
It is a really awesome small camera though. Does everything it should as a point and click and very easy to use. The picture quality is excellent!! Believe me you will not be disappointed. There are all kinds of settings you can use to help you out as well. The menu layout is very well done and easy to use. If you have used other canon cameras, not much changed.
I wanted to mention to people that if you are using a Mac like I am, you won't be able to install the software. If you have snow leopard or Mac OS X 10.6 you will be very frustrated like I was.
It is on all kinds of sites and people are complaining they can't use it on Snow Leopard. Funny people are also having problems with their printers, scanners and everything else to under Snow Leopard. So I don't feel so bad.
I had to find the North American version of this camera and it is the ELPH SD1200.
I am going to save you the aggravation. Took me about an hour but I found the fix. In case they take out the link from my review, you need to go to Canon USA website and go to drivers & software section for the ELPH SD1200. Why we don't have the drivers for European Canon websites is totally beyond me? Maybe they are buried somewhere.

You will be asked for the CD so it is mandatory to have or you won't be able to install the new version. I guess they want to make sure you actually own it.
Canon, you knew this wouldn't work with Snow Leopard why did it take you so long to fix this??

I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for a snap and go. I had been concerned by some reviews on here that you had to wait for focus before pressing button again for photo to be taken, this is a very quick process, so do not be put off. I also have not had any photos too dark. Would have liked a wide angle lens camera, but bought this as has optical viewfinder (be aware this does not change when using zoom etc) but I am more than happy with area shown on pictures with this camera. As stated viewfinder a real bonus as so few compact camera's have them.
Photos in any light, even night come out well. Hope to put some shots on here soon when learn how to use software on computer.
IXUS 95 IS DIGITAL CAMERA, 2010-08-27
Purchased for ease of carrying around and primarily as a "point and shoot" device for producing good quality photographs, this camera has so far impressed with the standard of results. The video facility is good, and there are many options for a variety of settings. Would recommend the purchase of a large capacity memory card so as to allow plenty of room for snapping away without worrying about running out of space.
There are cameras with higher pixel capacity, but for this type of camera 10mp is ample.
Would recommend it.
