Sony S930 Case advice!!!, 2010-01-03 Please be aware that the LCS-CST camera case suggested by Amazon 'other people have also ordered' comment on S930 detail page (as at 3.1.2010)is not the case advised on the Sony camera box when it arrives!!!!Camera is a VERY tight fit!! (Amazon advised) Correct items are---LCS-CSQ or LCS-CSJ or LCS-TWE----All on Amazon site!! Also be aware only 2---YES 2!! pictures can be taken using camera without any memory card at high resolution---making it embarrassing if you give as a present without also supplying a memory card!!!
Otherwise a brilliant camera from Sony.
Great Camera, 2010-01-19 OK So people moan and complain about this using AA Batteries why complain there great better than cameras than come with there own I have a 1 Hour fast battery charger and some rechargable batteries 2800mah which have more power than some cameras with there own batteries and with 12 batteries all charged up in a day.
I can go on a weeks holiday without needing to charge up and 2 batteris will last for ages longer than a cameras with it's own battery so don't think AA's are a bad idea.
And as for the camera it's great exceptional image quality as you would except from a Sony would recomend this one for everyday use.
OK the memory cards which are Memory stick pro duo are bit bit more expensive than SD cards but a 4gb card is arround £20 and will hold arround 900 photos can't see anyone taking that many.
The video is OK not the best quality but ok for say youtube this is not a camcorder so don't expect it to porform like one sony do great camcorders which I have one
And as for the price an excelent price for a camera of this spec and quality a bargin
sony cyber-shot, 2010-01-20 A great little camera that does the job. Easy to use and great for the not to experience photographer.
Not very good, 2009-10-26 I bought this as a replacement to a DSC-W80 7.2megapixel camera which got damaged with sand on holiday. I didn't want to pay loads for a camera and this was reasonably priced and had a higher megapixel than my previous camera - I also wanted a camera to us the same memory card.
Based on the reviews this seemed like a good option. However, and this is my fault for not reading the spec closely enough, when I opened the package I discivered the camera ran off AA batteries - and not the same recharable lithium of the old camera. The camera is very plasticy in feel and not very robust.
The quality of all pictures taken is not a patch on my original DSC-W80.
The moral of the purchase is that you get what you pay for - and I suggest you pay a bit more!
A CRACKER!, 2010-01-02 Bought one of these for my son who is in the army. This was lost or stolen within 3 weeks but had already left an impression. I bought him a replacement for his birthday and "added" one for myself. I have been a photographer for many years, both amateur and professional and have lots of cameras, both film and digital so to buy another made little sence (ask my wife". I was however so impressed with the results from this little sony that I "neaded one", (its a man thing). The results are stunning, I hear people moan about it running on AA batteries. I find this an ADVANTAGE! you can buy them anywhere and if you do as I, use 2500mA rechargables, it lasts forever on a charge. I have compared the results with photo's taken with my Olympus E510 which cost about 6 times as much and it compares quit well. I bought these cameras via the cheap option price as shop-soiled or marked. All of the cameras arrived in as-new condition and I would say the boxes had never been opened. If your looking for a small digital thats as easy as you want it to be, look no further, this is a great little camera.
