I've had this camera for about a month. I wanted a good compact to take to places I would not take my digital SLR. I could not be more pleased with it. Perfect for pointing and shooting and the video is excellent although it uses up battery fast.

It is very small not much bigger than a mobile phone so fits easily in your pocket.
It is a very well built and solid little camera. I dropped it and it bounced several times over some rocks. It had a few little dents and scratches but it still works perfectly.

I would not hesitate to recommend to someone looking for a reasonably priced, very easy to use compact.

It won't replace my digital SLR but it takes high quality images and video and is a lot more portable.

I looked at a number of cameras around this price, even going into stores to pick them up look at them and found this camera the best for me. The viewer is a real bonus when you are out in the sun and I have fond this very useful even though you can increase the brightness of the LCD screen. Zoom is excellent, macro is also excellent. Not too heavy considering the 4 batteries it takes. I have been getting used to the many features and am looking at getting to grips with the manual operation. I bought the 1800 camera case and it fits well into this keeping the whole package quite compact for an 18X zoom camera. The case has a pocket for 4 extra batteries and I can just get an SD/USB card reader in there as well.

Not as good as a camcorder for recording videos only for the reason that, as others have said, you can hear the zoom on the recordings - though pictures and sound are fine. Good as a bonus when you are out taking photos and want to record a quick video though.

Very good value for the money.

Little to complain about, 2010-04-28
I bought this camera to replace a 2005 model Fuji S5500. Some useful features have gone (manual focus, for example) but the 2500HD can, as the name suggests, take HD video. It's not the greatest quality video but it's perfectly adequate given that this is really a stills camera. Zooming in and out creates a lot of noise on the audio though.

No complaints at all about the camera's capabilities with regards to photographs. The 18X optical zoom works well, as does the image stabilization. The 16:9 format is handy for creating photos for your Windows desktop and the more normal 4:3 and 3:2 formats are also available.

For some reason i had a problem when using a Sandisk 16GB card. When taking HD video, the camera would only take about 30 seconds worth of video before stopping itself. I sent the camera back to Fuji and they returned it with a Fuji 16GB card installed. This works perfectly! I am not the first person to have this problem but as Fuji have supplied me with a free 16GB card I'm not going to complain too much. So, beware of buying anything other than a fuji 16GB card. Sandisk 8GB cards work fine, by the way.

Overall, an excellent camera.

Great camera for the price, 2010-08-21
Used this on a recent trip, great for snorkeling, and being digital, only need to print the best of the pictures. Would recommend rechargable batteries and a good memory card so that lots of pictures can be taken, just sorry that I forgot to try out the video while I was there, maybe next time. Very good value for money and works fine for pictures out of the water too.

I decided to buy this type of camera to supplement my other Canon camera. I had looked at Canon ISP to find out what was the best type of compact camera and this suited my requirments mainly because I wanted good quality and excellent pictures. I looked around the internet to see who was the cheapest and acceptable supplier (I am a pensioner!). As expected I found Amazon the cheapest and additionaly I trust this supplier. I ordered it and received as quick as expected. The order was very well packed with all the instructions needed. I have used this camera and it is easy to take with you and provides first class pictures. What more can I say than Amazon provides the items you are looking for at the best price and well packed and delivered quickly.

My first NIKON Nikon L22 Digital Camera - Black (12MP, 3.6x Optical Zoom) 3 inch LCD. I was going to choose a SONY CYBERSHOT but it was out of stock so I bought the NIKON. A professional brand (like CANON) that has consolidated decades of experience, knowledge and quality into a COOLPIX (terrible name but a great camera). The camera is solid, metal-body, styled (but not fussy).

The menu navigation is so simple and extensive (you can select different photographic subjects; everything from close-up, fireworks, portrait with intuitive "face identification" software, dark, indoors, etc.) for every possible (except underwater...) situation.

Managing images is easy, and the panaramic feature is great as you can "match-up" the last shot (using a "ghosting-image" at the edge of the viewfinder) to fit with the next (so you can collate 360 degrees worth of images). The pack comes with a CD-ROM manual, a software disc for your PC, a wrist strap, two AA batteries. The screen is impressive as is the Pixel resolution. Impressive.

Other impressive features: There are audio settings (click of buttons and clicking when you take a photo) to turn on or off, and an image "date imprint" that you can also turn on or off if you don't want the date to appear on the photo print.

It would great if it came with a "case" but it does (so that's the next purchase). It's small enough to fit in a jeans pocket.

Overall, for £67.00 I would say "EXCELLENT VALUE for an EXCELLING DIGITAL CAMERA".

I am fussy about my photographs and I wanted a quality camera which would give quality results but wouldn't be so heavy to carry around as my SLR. The Canon lens hasn't let me down. I hadn't realised how much control I could have with such a small camera. I am very pleased with this camera.
