My first NIKON Nikon L22 Digital Camera - Black (12MP, 3.6x Optical Zoom) 3 inch LCD. I was going to choose a SONY CYBERSHOT but it was out of stock so I bought the NIKON. A professional brand (like CANON) that has consolidated decades of experience, knowledge and quality into a COOLPIX (terrible name but a great camera). The camera is solid, metal-body, styled (but not fussy).

The menu navigation is so simple and extensive (you can select different photographic subjects; everything from close-up, fireworks, portrait with intuitive "face identification" software, dark, indoors, etc.) for every possible (except underwater...) situation.

Managing images is easy, and the panaramic feature is great as you can "match-up" the last shot (using a "ghosting-image" at the edge of the viewfinder) to fit with the next (so you can collate 360 degrees worth of images). The pack comes with a CD-ROM manual, a software disc for your PC, a wrist strap, two AA batteries. The screen is impressive as is the Pixel resolution. Impressive.

Other impressive features: There are audio settings (click of buttons and clicking when you take a photo) to turn on or off, and an image "date imprint" that you can also turn on or off if you don't want the date to appear on the photo print.

It would great if it came with a "case" but it does (so that's the next purchase). It's small enough to fit in a jeans pocket.

Overall, for £67.00 I would say "EXCELLENT VALUE for an EXCELLING DIGITAL CAMERA".

Picture quality is great at all focal lengths. Built-in camera modes are excellent (flower, sport, etc). I can't really fault it.

I didn't have time to try out this camera before going on holiday - and luckily, it is so easy to use that my holiday snaps are great! This is my first camera and really enjoyable and easy to use, though I was recommended by more camera-savvy people to purchase a memory card to get the most out of this camera, so I would factor this into your budget too. As for uploading onto the pc, I used the memory card to do this, and it couldnt' be easier! The pictures are a great quality, and I'm really pleased with the camera

Good, but not the best, 2010-08-11
I purchased this camera this week and although the first one was sent back (and thanks to Amazon on the amazing returns and Customer service) I have found the images taken on this camera are very soft looking the 3 inch display on the back of the camera does not appear very clear to me,also I think Sony should think about a re-design for the function wheel on the top of the camera as sometimes your finger goes to this wheel instead of the shutter to actually take a photograph.Also I have found that the function wheel appears as though its about to turn and you end up with a different selected function. Apart from that I really think that this camera cannot compete with the Panasonic Lumix TZ10 - which has a far better screen in regards to quality and images. The sweep function is good although on the 1st camera (which was returned) the sweep function kept turning off and didnt do the job, the 2nd one I now have does work and although good its very small and obviously downsized in quality. To sum up I am sadly dissapointed in this camera and thought after all the hype it would certainly perform much better considering its from the great brand of Sony. Will however be keeping it, the 10 shots per second is something else!

Worth every penny, 2010-08-25
This camera arrived three days after I had ordered it, I was amazed at how small but how big the screen is.
This lovely easy to use camera has 5x optical zoom, HD video (hi definition) , but is brilliant value for money I would recommend this camera, Amazon take good care in wrapping the box with hard plastic to insure it will not break the product. This is my second camera and I now know what a descent camera is.

Quick story. I was asked if I rated Kodak digital cameras. I said nope, get one of the bigger names. That person ignored my advice since she liked the redish colour of the camera - some great reason to buy a camera I know. Well I eat my words. It was reduced in price and it is excellent value for money. over 12 meg images, raw, jpeg, video and so easy to use. One other thing the panoramic facility is excellent. Its so easy to use.

I see that another reviewer moans about not being able to see the display in sunlight - well thats a problem with most cameras but for this price I am not going to worry. Now I am about to buy a Leica X1 or should I try the Kodak? Just kidding - Leica for me very day but I am knocked out on the value of this excellent Kodak camera.

5 stars give but one thing that does irritate me - why no sd card with the camera. Its like buying a torch without batteries. Luckily my friend realised that there was no sd card in it and bought one from Boots (Now come one would you wait 24 hours for Amazon to deliver at a lower price?)

Amazing camera, 2010-08-11
This camera is amazing - I took 650 pics on a recent holiday to S Africa and nearly all were perfect. It does all the hard work for you, allowing you to click to your heart's content. It also has a fantastic panoramic picture facility, video and a very good zoom. Highly recommended for keen photographers who don't want to carry around a huge camera.

Great camera for the price, 2010-08-10
This a great camera. It does what it says on the tin and is very easy to use. The price is competitive. Minor niggles: Once a picture has been taken, it takes quite a while to be ready for the next picture (2-3s). Even so, I would buy one again if I needed to.

Canon 1000D SLR, 2010-06-10
Delighted with this camera. On automatic it is so easy to use and being digital I can review the results immediately, not like my last SLR a 35mm film camera. I have experimented with manual settings and am getting encouraging results as I learn. It's light too, certainly would recommend it as an entry level to the digital world of SLR cameras, after using a digital point and shoot.
