Cheap and Cheerful, 2008-09-18
Broke after 3 months of use. I have it setup neatly on my desk where the cable is not pulled at and after 3 months the left speaker stopped working. However they were extremely comfortable and a very good cheap alternative. Theres always a chance that something this cheap can go wrong so thats the risk you take.
For Skype and Internet Chats, I'm Satisfied, 2007-07-05
My Logitech Internet Chat Headset does the job. I use it to occasionally chat with friends internet to internet on AOL and Yahoo, or through Skype. The headset has successfully connected me to Hungary and Indonesia, as well as places around the USA.
I have dial-up, but have used it on a T-1 and wireless lines without trouble. The sound was great, limited only by my connection. The headset feels comfortable for short calls; I never talk longer than an hour. The mike is to the side, and picks up my voice perfectly.
What did I need? A cheap microphone and headphone set. That's what I received. More money would get me a better quality device with more features, but this will suffice.
Do better devices exist? Probably, as the technology behind these is basic. The point is, this one is fine. If you need CD quality audio, shop elsewhere. If you just want to call on a few friends now and again, this is enough.
I fully recommend the Logitech Internet Chat Headset.

Just to let you people out there know..
unless you want to spend £40 on a discontinued product, even though Logitech say this works on a Mac,
this product DOES NOT work on an Apple Mac, i found out to my dismay, and now have to buy a different headset!
ive done plently of emailing to various customer supports, and they're shifting the blame to other companies that dont even know what the product is. I'm highly dissatisfied.

Good looking product with a choice of colours for the earphone covers - not what I bought them for but a nice touch.
Sound quality is good, both through the earphones and the mic. Used very successfully on Skype and even as a headset for a VOIP phone (very surprised I could do that!).
Why only 4 stars? Well the shape of the plastic joining the headphones means it catches on the back of my shirt collars unless I adjust the angle so the earphones aren't on my ears properly. A minor niggle in the scheme of things but annoying enough to cost one star.
