I'm sure it is a good printer with the right computer - sadly not with my emac. Watch out for those OS numbers -this printer needs at least 10.4!!

I'm very happy with this printer, for what is a very good price on Amazon.
I did have some difficulties with the wireless connection. It was giving me all sorts of grief trying to get it set up on my wireless network. However, it turns out that the USB cable port on the printer was a bit stiff, and after trying various things, simply pushing the USB cable into its slot with a bit of force did the trick. I felt like a tool!
The printer is excellent though. Be aware that the inks supplied are quite small starter packs and the black ink cartridge is on its last legs already. I've ordered an XL cartridge which should last much longer.
The only other downside is that in order to scan a document, this must be done via USB cable and can't be done wirelessly. For this price that's a small price to pay though.
Print quality is excellent, it looks good and you can copy without turning your pc on. All in all, an excellent product at this price.

Good quality printing and easy wi-fi usage. Setting up wi-fi both in Mac and Widows is easy. But inks does not last long as mentioned in HP cartridge and replacements are slightly costlier. Excellent buy at 49.99.
Easy to use, great results, 2010-06-02
Set this up today and although I've not used it much, I'm quite impressed by what I've seen so far. Set-up was a doddle - the only real problem was the speed of my PC - and it talked to my wireless hub as soon as I put in the security key. Setting it up on my MacBook was even easier - it was already there and the MacBook talked to it instantly via the wifi. It's responsive, it's easy to use and the print quality isn't at all bad. Printing is quick too. Not had an opportunity to use the scanning functions yet, but I have no reason to doubt it will be good.
My new HP, 2010-06-08
I needed to replace my ever faithful HP deskjet 895cxi when it died recently after 9 years service in the office. After a period of grief, I looked around for a new HP, I didn't need the scanner and copier capability but the alternatives were on the large side for the dedicated shelf space I have. Finally I chose the F4580 and so far so good. I haven't set it up wireless since I didn't need to but the set up went pretty smoothly and some 4 weeks in, I'm still using the original small cartridges. The extra size cartridges are at a good price with Amazon also. Quick, quietish, and good print clarity. I'm looking forward to long and happy relationship.
