Got this to install a 1Tb hard drive inside my ageing PC.
I didn't want to replace the motherboard because it had no sata socket, and as everything was working ok, why ditch it.
1Tb hard drives for the normal/old IDE are non existant, and I wanted to keep all of my music on one hard drive, system on't'other.
This little board and connection cables allow you to connect a new SATA drive to your old IDE socket inside your old computer. It works. Buy it!

Not sure why others are having problems, but when I saw the cable I was very impressed by the substantial quality ! The picture does not do it justice !
It is what I would classify in the cable world as "professional quality" ! If you use decent cables for your Hi Fi you will know what I am talking about !
Connected up to my external disk absolutely perfectly and running beautifully as I write ! 2 metres at a bargain price !
Im only writing this as I was nearly put off by some of the reviews and nearly didn't buy it, which would have been a great mistake !
Compared to the 1 metre esata that came with my external drive, this is just light years better quality ! Looks like it will last forever !
