Optoma DW318 DLP Projector (widescreen, HD Ready and 3D Ready )

This is an amazing projector. It arrived very quickly with 1st Class Delivery, and as soon as it arrived I plugged it all in and turned it on , (which took a little under 2minutes). my first impression projecting onto a dirty, greasy green wall was 'WOW!!' - big screen and extremly bright and vivid colours. I then painted the screen area matt white. Then it was more than wow, it is completley immersive. You lose yourself in the rich colours and huge screen. I use it conected up to my BluRay player to play both BluRay's and DVDs and get a great picture from both. Soon i'm going to place a black border round the image which I have heard great things about doing so, apparently it improves the contrast ratio, and makes the colours 'pop' even more. Excellent projector, and brilliant value for money.

this projector is good for late night films (NEEDS A PITCH BLACK ROOM) sound is a bit rubbish, connect the sound to a sround sound system, you cant connect this to a laptop unless your laptop supports tv out.

This is my first DLP Projector and after many weeks deciding whether I should go for a cheaper 720p projector, I finally decided I'd probably regret it if I didn't go for the full 1080p Projector. After reading many reviews I decided on the Optoma HD200x and boy, I can say I was not disappointed.
In anticipation, I had bought the [90" 2.25m 16:9 Tripod Based HD Projector Projection Screen] by TechSolutions and a [HDMIKing- Imperial Series 4.5M (15ft) v1.3c 120hz+ HDMI Cable- Gold Plated, Double Insulated [Frustration-Free Packaging]], both via Amazon, to connect to my "Sony BDPS370 Blu-ray Player".

Out of the box with all its default settings (Cinema mode), I played Avatar, on DVD, not Blu-ray, in front of the wife and kids. They were blown away instantly as the 90inch, perfectly displayed, image made my 42" Panasonic Plasma, look like a 16"portable. They were a bit sceptical at first about the projector, but are now avid converts and can't imagine watching another movie on a `small' screen.

To get a 90inch image, I had my projector perched on a kitchen chair, approximately 11 feet from the screen. Yep, I could have made the image bigger if I wanted to, but 90" was perfect for the size of my room.

If you're wondering if you should take the plunge and buy that 42/50" telly, forget it and get this projector. You won't be disappointed. I can't wait to get it hooked into my Sky HD box when the footy's on next.

I recently bought this projector. I have found it to be excelent peice of equipment, image clarity is awesome and this does not change even when you have it quite some distance from the screen.

On the down side - and there must be at least one with every item, the in built speaker in the projector is not really up to much and is both very quiet and very tinny in quality. It would do the trick if all else fails but I would recommend not using the inbuilt speaker if it can be avoided.

However combine a decent speaker set up with this projector and you have a recipe for success. the colour vibrancy and contrast are great, the user interface (accessable from the unit or through the included remote control)is intuative and simple.

The keystone correction is again simple to use and intuatative.

It is worth spending a few minutes reading the shut down procedure carefully as even after the display has vanished the power is not fully off as the built in fan cools everything down when you finish, so placement for the unit where you can see the led's on the top might be helpful if you intent to unplug the item after use.

Another plus point is that this item also comes with both a Eruo mains lead and a UK mains lead, this might not sound to important, but its extrordinarily useful if you intend to use this item for presentations in various locations (after all the item is small enough to make this viable and does come complete with a transit case capable of carrying the projector and all its accessories)

Once again I highly recommend this projector pound for pound (or euro as the case might be) you will struggle to find a better buy

After thinking long and hard to buy one of these and iam glad I did.

3D is superb and normal 2D is excellent quality for 720p.

I would recommend this to anyone its well worth it for the price. :)

Very Good Picture and Sound, 2010-04-28
Excellent Projector! The picture is very good. It plays fantastic even on a wall. I don't even need a projector screen. I love it. It has got built in speakers too, can be very loud if you want it to be. We have connected our Sky digital box with it to watch and ejoy our HD chennels on a massive screen. A great home cinema in our living room..!! 100% reccomended. The price is very cheap too...!!

3M MPro150 Pico Projector

awesome picture power in your pocket, 2010-07-15
This is a great fun pico projector. I knew it would not fill a bright room but in a dimmed room it is great. It comes with a lot of basic cables and even international plug adaptors but it does not come with a direct iphone/ipod cable, that is however available as an add on if desired. I tend to open it like a hard drive on my computer and drag and drop my created video files onto it, it has a 2GB microSD card slot. I create video slide shows with music using a nifty program called DVD PixPlay, (well worth purchasing) and convert these files to .avi files. To me that is the best feature; you can play these videos without having to connect it to a computer or power supply at your venue. You need to think of it as a WOW!! unit rather than a presentation workhorse, it's fun and personal. Really is pocket sized too and includes sound and around 2 hours of battery life. It has tiny built in speaker but not meaty enough to share with a group but simple cheap plug in battery MP3 speakers fix that.


It is crazy that it comes with a quick set up guide but no operating instructions. I found the PDF manual on the 3M Website and downloaded it.
