This is an excellent printer offering good value for the price. The setup is very straightforward and doesn't take very long. I use the printer in a home wireless network and once it had been configured using the USB cable the printer established itself with the minimum of fuss. The printer downloads the network settings during setup and this means that there is no need to enter wireless keys, etc.

I would recommend this printer for the home situation.

Not had this printer long but was extremely impressed by the way the goods were packaged. The set up intructions are clear and precise and although I had prepared myself to do battle with setting up the wireless connection, it actually took longer to put in the ink cartridges than to set up the connection - easy!!

It also picks up the connection from a fair distance from the router and it is unbelievably quick on black and white printing. The LCD screen and menus are also easy to use. The only down side I have noted is that the rear paper holder is a little flimsy but other than that the build quality is very good.

Not sure how long the ink cartridges will last, they are quite small but of course that depends on how much colour printing is used, I doubt it will be an economical solution for heavy photo/colour use. Not tried the copier/scanner yet so may have to update this review!

I was looking for a wireless all in one printer that gave high quality printing from files and scanned images, reasonable cost to run, and of course the easier to set up the better.
And that is exactly what I got. This is the 3rd printer I have bought in 4 years, one an Epson, stopped working after 370 days, with a 365 day warranty, the other a Canon Pixma MP600R, which produced photo prints of poor colour, especially at A4.

We followed the clear, easy to read instructions, and had the first test print in under 30 minutes from the first computer, and the first print from the 2nd computer (laptop) in another 15 minutes - as long as it takes to install the software. No sweat, hair pulling or angst - perfect installation, thank you HP.

Printing is quick, images look as good on photographic paper as they do on your screen, scanning even quicker - compared to the Canon, about 1/10th of the time, really fast. There is both an A4 and 4X6 paper tray, loaded at the same time and it picks the right one. Duplex printing is an added bonus as is bluetooth. HP Photosmart Studio software is available from HP website so you can scan direct to pdf, and a bunch of other things.

It took me about a day of research, looking at Which, reviews on many sites, customer feedback, and I boiled my choice to 2, this HP and the Kodak. What put me off the Kodak was the number of hardware failures, having to send the machine back, getting a refurbished one as replacement - this is normal when you are producing a product for the first time, but I didn't want the hassle.

Issues that have been raised by other HP Photosmart owners, noise - yes it does clunck and whirr a bit, but not continuously - a small price to pay in my opinion. Ink usage - seems to be OK, nothing more than any other machine, and cartridges are better value bought through Amazon. Connectivity - no problems so far (2 weeks) with 2 laptops using a cheaper router supplied by o2.

In conclusion, save yourself hours of research, guessing, and making assumptions - BUY THIS HP Photosmart Premium - look around there are some good deal bundles including photo paper & ink at the moment.

For years I've had a laser printer for bulk printing plus an Epson R200 for photos, CDs and anything else in colour. It was temperamental - difficult to get card or CDs to feed and pernickety with the (compatible) yellow cartridges in particular. When it finally died, after 6 years, I considered a Canon but the P50 was my choice above all because I've got lots of CD label designs in Epson Print CD format. Not many printers can print directly onto printable CDs.

I haven't tried compatible ink cartridges yet with the P50 but I have done a fair bit of colour printing, including borderless photos, heavy card and CDs. It's handled all of them with no fuss, no misfeeds and all my CD designs work nicely in the latest version of the excellent Print CD software. Ink consumption seems OK so far - I've done quite a lot of printing and none of the cartridges is less than two thirds full. The print speed is fine and it's not too noisy. So despite some of the reviews I think Epson have got it right with this one.

I bought the Canon PIXMA MP990 Network ready Ultimate All-In-One Photo Printer through Amazon who quoted a very competitive price, particularly when you take the free postage into consideration along with ordering through a reputable supplier.
The printer arrived promptly. I think I was quoted between 3 and 5 days, it arrived within 3 days.
Setting up the printer and its WiFi capability 'was a dream'. I am running Vista. I placed the Setup CD-ROM (Windows)into my CD drive and I was up and running in no time at all encountering no problems on the way. It really couldn't have been any easier.....and I wouldn't describe myself as being very IT competent.
I am extremely pleased with the printer and the quality of the printing. The scanning and copying outputs are equally excellent.
I think that the only negative side will be the price of the replacement cartridges that is if you buy Canon replacements as I intend to do. But if you go for a 'top-end' printer there has to be some cost. This 'cost' will be lessened by having a printer with 6 cartridges so that you are only replacing what you actually need.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this printer.

I required a quality home wireless printer (Windows 7 compatible) mainly for letters and written documents, secondly for printing airline tickets etc, thirdly for photos. I did a very thorough search on websites and the Canon MP560 came out with the ideal specs (and price on Amazon), and I haven't been disappointed. It took half an hour to set up on the home PC and the same time for my laptop. I have already owned two thoroughly reliable Canon printers so expect no quality problems and the copying and photo printing are excellent. The cost of inks isn't an issue since I use the printer very moderately, producing no more than a dozen documents or photos per week.
