Transformed, 2010-03-02 I bought a Nikon D90 in December and although great at coping with high ISO's I wanted something I could use indoors to photograph my children and the onboard flash just doesn't cut it (like all DSLR's apparently).
This purchase has transformed my flash photography and Amazons price was the cheapest I could find ANYWHERE.
I did consider a cheaper nissin d622 but 'experts' advised I might be cutting too many corners - I'm pleased I listened to them. Nikon SB-600 Speedlight

This Infrared Remote Control lets you control the shutter release of specific COOLPIX models from a distance. It is ideal for creating self-portraits and can help prevent camera shake during shutter release.
Great product, 2010-02-24 Does what it says on the tin!! Remotely controls the shutter - good range - don't forget to turn on the remote function on your camera first!!!

A perfect purchase, 2010-03-12 I had been thinking of buying a DSLR for a while and had initially narrowed my shortlist down to the Canon 1000D, Nikon D3000 and Sony A350 (from what I had read the first generation of Sony DSLRs are better than the newest generation, so the A350 was in my price range!)
However, I was lucky enough to receive a little bonus from work which I thought I'd put towards the camera, and so expanded my thinking to include upper-entry level cameras, so started to research the Canon 450D and Nikon D5000.
Every review I read gave almost matching scores, with the Nikon coming out slightly on top regarding image quality. A couple of work colleagues who are in to photography quite seriously both then said they used Nikon, and so I went into a local camera shop to have a feel of the various cameras in my hands. The chap in the shop told me that the Nikon VR kit lenses were of a much higher quality than the Canon IS kit lenses, so that sealed the deal for me really.
I can safely say that I have made a fantastic decision. The D5000 is easy to use straight out of the box, and takes great photos on auto if all you want is to point and shoot. Where the camera excels though is when you start to take control, and the various scene modes and auto options allow you to do this at your own pace all the way through to fully manual.
Although not to everybody's taste, I have used the tilt screen a few times so far with live-view to take shots on a tripod at funny angles, yes the auto-focus is almost prohibitively slow whilst using live-view, but if you only use it for a minority of specialist shots and you know it's limitations it does the job well. I used mine for a couple of shots of scenic sunsets where the camera was too high to see through the viewfinder.
I can't really fault the D5000, if you are looking for a true entry level camera the D3000 is probably the way to go, but for a high quality camera between entry level and professional which is compact enough to carry around on a daily basis, the D5000 is an excellent choice.

A Great Lens, 2010-03-04 I received a Nikon D3000 for Christmas and decided to buy this lens, I was not disappointed. The VR makes a big difference. I have just got back from Egypt and got some great results. There was a bit of a delay with the delivery due to the snow, I got in contact with the company and they were very helpful.

Superb piece of kit!!, 2010-02-28 Having shared my daughters D80 for a while, I decided to buy one for myself. Finding that the D80 was now out of production I looked at the D90. What a camera!! The D80 is excellent but the D90 takes that quality to a new level. Spend time going over the instructions and familiarise yourself with the controls and menus and you will find that it has been time well spent. The camera sits comfortably in the hand, (I tried a Canon of similar spec and found it a bit fiddly and small in the hand), with all controls within easy reach and sensibly laid out. Superb photographs in all lighting conditions. A joy to use. Worth the extra expense over lesser cameras. Buy one and enjoy!

- Multi-coated optical glass for enhanced optical resolution.
- "FILTER UV: Protects your camera's lens from scratches, dust, dirt, moisture, and fingerprints, while reducing unwanted ulra-violet light."
- "FILTER FD: The F-DL fluorescent light correction filter gives true-to-life color rendition by removing the harsh yellow-green cast ordinarily resulting from fluorescent bulbs. When shooting under natural light, a fluorescent filter dramatically increases color satruation of subjects."
- "FILTER PL: Polarizers let you acheive vibrant color saturation, reduce or eliminate glare and reflections from non-metallic objects and glass surfaces, and minimize haze. The filter can be rotated to determine the amount of reflection to be removed."
- Includes protective carrying case.
Filters for Pentax K-x, 2010-02-19 These arrived very swiftly - and were as described. The case is very neat and gives good protection to the filter/s not in use. I use the 'spare' section to keep a cleaning cloth in .
The free micro fibre cleaning cloths were a very welcome bonus - somehow these are things which see to have a mind of their own and I find they 'escape'. I'm always searching for one - not now - it's in my filter case .
The whole thing is very neat taking up the minimum of room in my camera bag.
