Does what it should. Generally i try to look for 3rd party accessories suppliers but in this case i tried another offering that had a rotating screw fixing of annoying design and cheaper construction. This original canon version turns and clicks nicely in and out of place with no fuss. It's also got a nice black felt type inner lining to the leaves which is presumably less reflective and certainly adds to it being a quality item.

Lenspen LP-1 Original

A must for everyone with a SLR camera, 2010-02-03
One of the better lens cleaning products on the market today. A must for anyone with a SLR camera but equally useful for those with compact digitals as well.

Pros: durable plastic outer shell. The brush should be used first to remove dust and dirt followed by the cleaning pad. Both provide a good quality clean for lenses, view finders and viewing screens. Extremely portable and compact. The cap and slide out button ensures both cleaning pad and brush are kept clean and hidden while not in use.
Cons: none to mention.

I do like it, i do alot of out door photography and filming and glare is always an issue when you don't want it. So i purchased this it works brilliantly, and it looks really mean on the front of your camera :D

Hoya 72mm Pro1 Digital UV Filter

Having recently taken up photography for a hobby I wanted something to protect my lens from accidental fingerprints, water drops or worse.
Initially I just wanted something cheap for this and bought a supposed 'genuine' lesser known filter on ebay - it was total rubbish and was thrown away.
This filter is very well made, produces very good results and is very shallow - good for ultra-wide lenses.
Unlike the next level up of Hoya filter this one has a screw thread at the front which is important if you still need to use a 'pinch' lens cap that grips the thread.
A good buy.

I think the most people who are reading this review are thinking of purchasing it. So I won't go in to too much detail.

Just like every single person who owns this lens and wrote a review about it... It's and amazing lens. The first few pics will be so breathtaking you just can't believe it. The quality is so awful great! I don't get it why its not an L lens. Sure the 'L' in the title would make the price twice as much but I don't think its any less better than the L series lenses. (have never owned an L lens).

If your a beginning photographer and just fell in love with photography (what one of the best thing must be in your whole life, ghehe) this is def. a good lens for you. But I think you won't be very suprised because you have never used a bad lens or a simple kitlens. It's so much more fun if you have used lenses with low/normal quality. But thats something rather personal, and it doesn't make the lens different ofcourse.

I have bought a lens hood with it (too bad it doesn't come with the lens so I had to spend 25 euro extra, very clever Canon) and its an accessory I highly suggest to buy (aside filters).
I have been using this lens for 2 weeks. I have just returned from my trip to Dubai (another wow I can say). It kinda changed my mind about the lens.
Sure the portrait photo's where great, but the lens wasn't very useful. I wished I had bought a 10mm lens too, just because I couldn't get the burj Khalifa (largest building in the world) in one photo. :P For a travel lens I cannot suggest it. Get a landscape lens. I think its the one and only 'useful' lens on a trip (an allround lens could be an option, but I has far less image quality).
I still made very very VERY good shots with it. And if you won't use it that much for traveling you will be using it for any other type of photography (wildlife could be possible but it won't be easy).

If there was one lens I could use, if there was only 1 lens I could suggest someone else to buy, if theres one lens out of a milion, it has to be this one.

Canon Lens Hood ES-71II For EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Lens

As with most Canon kit you'd expect it to be good and it is. A well made product which fits easily and securely. Has a matt "felt" like interior to the hood which does not reflect light.

All of my lenses have the Canon hoods - they are useful when shooting when the sun is out or strong light in general keeping lens flares away. Not only that they do offer some moderate protection to your lens either from knocking it or anything blowing around. I wouldn't consider not having one personally.

Maybe expensive but you do get what you pay for, when you consider the cost of your lens it isn't that much. It's just a shame Canon don't supply them as standard with the lens itself (unless you get an L glass lens)!

I use these macro tubes on my EOS 450D and I was pleasantly surprised with the results. I wasn't expecting much and thought, for the price, that I'd give them a go. If you want to try macro photography and are wondering whether to buy a (very expensive) lens then buy these first, you won't be disappointed.
