Good product at a good price, 2010-07-28
I saw a surge protector in one of the big chains (Staples, I think,) which had a response time ten times as long and would only take about half the surge energy of this product, but had a £1,000 connected equipment warranty nonetheless. I did not check the small print of the warranty, but I expect that the Belkin provides a reasonable level of protection, despite the fact that they say it is only suitable for protecting non-electronic equipment, and offer products which will take a surge energy several times greater (but with the same response time). My power cables are buried in the ground anyway, and I do not know anyone who has lost equipment to a power surge, so I expect that my risk is minimal. This product provides some cheap peace of mind, and also has a convenient 1 metre power cable and a handy on/off switch.

This is a very good item for protection of basic electronics. If this is what you are looking for, it is very good value for money, if you need to protect more sensitive devices, then look for better protection by other Belkin's products.

We had had several power surges due to a faulty transformer on teh electricity pole. This is now resolved. I bought this to supplement two simmilar products and several wall socket devices for peace of mind. This item is a littel bulky but they all seem to work.

I was looking for a good solid basic power strip, and this is it!
Quite rugged construction, and what looks like a pair of mounting holes in the back of the moulding (not tried them but that is what they appear to be).
Had a sheet of instructions provided which appear to have no relevance to this product, and that issue could stand some review from the maker.
Product is fine, maybe a little bulky, but that was not an issue for me and the place I had marked out for it to live. I prefer it a little hefty rather than flimsy for certain, there far are too many flimsy ones out there already.
