Premium HDMI to DVI Cable Gold 2 Metre

This is more a review of the seller than the actual product...

The cable wasn't doing what I wanted to do, I wasn't sure if it was the cable or the function, so I emailed the vendor. They replied 20 minutes later (7 p.m.), and offered me a replacement or a refund.

I took the replacement, which arrived two days later, and, as requested, notified them that it still wasn't doing anything.

They then refunded me.

So although this item obviously wasn't the one I needed, I would unreservedly buy from this vendor again if they are selling what I require in future.

With regard to why it possibly didn't work for me: my understanding is that this is (probably) a dual link DVI connection, and my setup seems to call for a single link DVI (has 18 pins instead of 24, as far as I can tell). This vendor doesn't sell that cable so I am having to try elsewhere, otherwise I would have ordered it from them.

So before you buy, check whether you need the 18 or the 24 pin version of the DVI plug.

I find the front of the machine rather odd with a silly dust cayching lip! but not to worry it is working well it does not turn my TV over, but that could be my Toshiba TV! otherwise Well pleased! picture quality is outstanding with vivid colours and a good range of features to boot!

Ok, so having only bought cheapy £25 dvd players in the past, I thought it was about time that I splashed out a bit more for a decent player!
I knew that I wanted wifi connectivity, bluray and internet streaming, and did loads of research into what player to get. This Sony seemed to tick all the boxes.

All I can say is its an amazing at everything it does:

Setup is easy (even though there isn't really much to setup)
Bluray playback is stunning (To me it looks even better than the bluray playback on ps3)
BBC iPlayer is fantastic, with access to HD streaming too.
I haven't got a 3d tv, so cant test that.

The only slight niggle was streaming films from my laptop. Setting up in Windows Media Player, the DVD player just says 'no playable file'. But using Nero Mediahome, it worked straight away. But that's probably more something to do with laptop setup than the dvd players' fault.

So to sum up...Buy it! Im glad I did!

Hama DVD Laser Cleaning Disc

Purcahsed this DVD lens cleaner for issue was suspect dirty laser or possible laser transport, as DVD were playing ok sometimes, with CD's playing but with sound skip/clicking and a slight speed fluctuation.
After using simple to use onscreen GUI, stating when cleaning is finished, DVD's appeared to be ok, but CD's continued to have same issues.
Without any doubt, Hama disc cleaner is good at it's intended purpose is, but ended up changing the DVD Rom drive to a Sony from a LG. Running noise now whisper quiet and all operations/discs play ok, and given there has always been a lot of mechanical noise from the LG drive, drive failure was problem.
Still happy with disc cleaner. Recommended.

What a fantastic little DVD Player.

This is an excellent, affordable and easy to use DVD Player.

It plays all formats of DVD and CD as well as music and pictures from a USB Memory Stick and one feature I love is that when you are viewing a film with the black bars at the top and bottom of the TV screen there is a button to push on the Remote Control which widens the picture to fit your size screen.

I have also made it Multi-Region to play all my discs using the advice from another reviewer. It was easy and straight forward.

If you are looking for a good make (Philips), easy to use and affordable DVD Player my advice is you cannot go wrong with this one.
