Great Set Up For The Money, 2010-06-13 I was a bit hesitant to purchase this as, at the time of purchasing, there were no reviews I could find on the net for this item. However I thought I would take a chance as I was in dire need of a decent 5.1 surround system with DTS. I have to say, for the money this is a very good system and I am very pleased with it. It was packed very well and very easy to set up with all the speakers and cable colour coded for ease of use.
The system itself is finished in Piano black which on the plus side is very nice to look at but has the disadvantage of being a magnet for dust.
On to the performance. I really only wanted this to play my PS3 through. I had looked at stand alone surround sound systems but they were actually more expensive than this system. It has optical in and plays both Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS - however this will not play DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD just to be clear, but will still decode and play regular DTS and Dolby really well. Sound is very good - nice mid range and can be fine tuned via on screen menus. It has a passive sub woofer which is a bonus if you dont have too many plug sockets spare.
Picture wise - this is a very good DVD player with great upscaling (actually better than the PS3 at upscaling). Nice remote control with some glow in the dark buttons !!!!
It has a USB socket on the front which I have heard can take a portable drive up to 250gb.
This system can also play DivX files and photo CD's
This system will be laughed at by 'purists' but if you want a good sounding system with great upscaling capabilities then this is a very good buy. Good choice of inputs enabling you to plug your Sky+, Virgin box, Xbox or PS3 through.

Excellent value, 2010-07-15 Bought this as my first foray into surround sound, about a month ago-absolutley fantastic! Easy to install and great sound in our relatively small lounge. If you've got a Panasonic TV then life is even easier. Highly recommend it.

Panasonic 5.1 DVD Home Cinema, 2010-06-08 This system is absolutley brilliant. First it is easy to set up, it looks good, and has so much to offer. With this you do not need a stero system as it is so powerful it would start any party rocking. You will not be disappointed I can assure you. Check out the IPod doc and other facilities available. Cheap and Powerful, 2010-05-29 Great mid-range product, easy set up, though I would recommend going through the quick guide included, more power than most people with average sized (mine is 5m x 6m)rooms will ever need.Works well with Scart but recommend HDMI and optical link for full benefits.the sound options a bit fiddle although quite gratifying when you get your head around it. Like the discreet sub only 145x289x285, doesn't clash with the Deco... Missus approved. to neatly run the wires, one might need extension, particularly for the back (Ambiophonie) speakers as I had to do. Using Kingston Technology 4GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive for music and this is quite responsive and the menu for this is uncomplicated. not yet tried the Ipod dock so can't comment. aesthetics aside this is a good machine all round exhibits the usual Panasonic craftsmanship... Am not how ever sure placing the USB slot behind the front panel cover was a good idea. the flash drive sticks out and leaving the flimsy cover at the mercy what ever domestic elements. Overall well recommended for the price range.

Sony BDV-370 Home Cinema System, 2010-06-07 I have recently purchased this amazing Sony BDV-370 Home cinema system and was totally happy once I had set this system up. The surround sound quality is really impressive when played through a high spec full HD 1080 TV which I had purchased also a while back. One small minus point was the length of the 2 front speaker wires, which I did find were just long enough to reach the position of my 2 front speakers, but the rear speaker cables were plenty long enough which was good as this was where I believed I was going to have the problem. The set-up of the system is not too hard to master and this was my first experience of blu-ray capabilities and this system has totally blown me away having replaced my old AKAI system which was 13 years old. One other point to note is that sony have not brought out any new speaker stands to go with any of the 2010 cinema systems yet but I got round this by using my old stands which fitted my new speakers fine but as they were silver in colour I had the small job of spraying them black first. All in all a excellent system when used to its full capacity and as it plays all formats of dvd/avi/mp3/mp4 ect files this is a major plus when watching movies through it. If you are thinking of replacing an old system like I was then I would recommend spending a few extra pounds and buying the best make around in sony. shop around on amazon as ths price for this system differed by atleast £100 between the sellers I looked at.

Wow....just wow..., 2010-07-02 I'm sorry but whatever anyone says no matter how packed full of functions, high quality or future proof this type of product is, it is not worth its salt if it lacks on the style front! You want your mates to come in and say "Wow"..and Samsung have not disappointed with this blu ray home cinema system. It is an gorgeously designed piece of kit and looks fantastic connected up.
It was easy to set up, well packaged and the majority of my time was spent hiding cables around the room. The system itself does everything it sells itself to be. Connected it up to Sky HD box and X-Box 360 with an optical splitter and it excels in sound quality. And it looks beautiful!
The last Samsung surround I purchased was quite disappointing as there was a severe lack of audio options but there are many adjustments that can be made here (the option that stabilises the sound is great if like me you live in a flat and dont want an asbo - you can enjoy at fairly low volumes without upsetting your neighbours!)
Just a couple of VERY minor points:
1) The subwoofer is a wee bit hard to tame but I saw a hint to put some socks or something in the back section to take some of the impact out of it..
2) The i-pod dock is an excellent feature is nice but it doesnt import album artwork across which is a bit lazy considering the quality
3) Not much internet TV content...youtube is about it...until BBCi-player etc comes to town it is hardly worth the hassle (dont be rushing out to buy wireless dongles!).
But they are all just very very minor quibbles. The Samsung Blu Ray Surround Sound comes highly recommended...

samsung HT-C5200 blu ray 2.1 ch Home Theatre System, 2010-07-02 some reports said noisey fan, but we haven`t had this problem. this is a good product for the price, and found the 2.1 ch plenty good enough for our living room size 15ft by 18ft.the only problem we found was no hdmi cable and digital optical audio cable which are not provided by manufacturer, so you need to buy them as extra.
