If you don't have an IPOD or Music server, or don't want to spend days ripping CD's in to a compressed file and then transfering to a MP3 player - then this is perfect and extremely well priced.

Loaded 300 cd's and labelled them all, via keyboard, within 2 hours - ok, you can only input 13 characters per disc - I didn't find this an issue.
Can group disc's in to 1 of 8 groups - only 8 groups available - I struggled to use 6 groups, so 8 is ample in my opinion.

Output is via standard audio L/R sockets or Optical (I would recommend Optical if you have a lot of mains cable near buy as Optical is NOT AFFECTED by electrial interference).

It was great fun going through my collection of CD's (that I haven't listened to in years), and whacking them in to the unit - I now have 300 cd's ready to play at any time and I find my self now listening to them.

So if you are looking for a IPOD type device with loads of functionality, then this is NOT the product for you.
If you are looking for something that you just want to listen to your CD collection at anytime (uncompressed) - then this is perfect - oh, if you have more than 300, then you can link/cascade 3 of these together to make one virtual box.

I'm very pleased with this product, the first Pioneer item I've ever owned and, being a very 'fussy' person about quality, I'm certainly not disappointed. Easy to set up, easy to work. The only one problem I have, being disabled with multiple sclerosis and relying heavily on remote controls, is that I can't so far find a way of remotely setting it to repeat, but every thing else, including to play 'random', can be.

I highly recommend this item.

So far this recorder has only been used to transfer old audio cassettes to CD, but otherwise it does what it says on the box - excellent! Simple to use, even for techno-morons, and the resulting CDs are at least as good as the tapes, with all the advantages of quick track access.
Amazon excelled themselves by delivering this item in perfect shape in under 24 hours. There must be a catch somewhere, but I ain't found it yet.

I bought this to go in my kitchen. It is very compact and looks good. Reception on the DAB is crystal clear. The only fault I have is a little extra volume would be good, as if the room is a bit bustly the unit is at max. Having said that it is loud enough at max, so to be honest it is perfectly fine.

I would recommend this definitely - classy bit of kit.

Let down by a fiddly design., 2010-01-22
This is a great thing to own - A 1tb hard drive which reads all sorts of information, so you can plug it into your TV and watch up to 800 hours of HD media. It's pretty obviously aimed at people who ahem 'electronically acquire' free movies who need a convenient way of storing them and showing them on TV.

However, it's severely let down by the esign of the unit. The USB connection, for some reason, is stuck in the back along with all the other cables, so to plug it into your PC you have to pick it up and fiddle around, wherupon the little stand it comes with falls off and rolls under the sofa. Then to turn it on you have to locate a tiny little switch, yet again placed for no clear reason on the on the back of the unit, and then press a button on the remote. It does get tiresome, particularly as it's not really obvious whether the unit's actually functioning after you've done all that. It seems to have been designed to look nice and minimal rather than function well, which isn't really good design. What's wrong with a nice 'On/Off' switch and a big red light, Iomega guys?

excellent piece of kit easy to use and a great community for updates and custom firmware etc, i also own the popcorn hour c200 and to be honest i prefer the wdtv as its much easier to use an dit plays everything the popcorn hour does.
