This amplifier is a replacement for a much dearer Marantz amplifier ,which died of old age. Financial circumstances dictated a cheaper amp. and reviews pointed to the NAD. I am very pleased with it,and prefer the sound to that produced by the Marantz.

Bought this item to use with my wildlife video/photography and it is really powerful. I spend many hours sat inside a hide waiting to capture wildlife, and this little devise works really well. Have used it several times on my nighttime shoots and to me that's when it comes into it own. Well worth buying one if you're into wildlife or hunting, or even just to listen to the distant birds around your garden. Their are so many more uses for this devise, it comes with all the necessary clips to attach to your coat or bins. It even comes with a battery.
Would recommend to anyone

Fiio F3 - Proof that size isn't everything, 2009-06-11
I recently purchased a Fiio E3 from Headphoneamplifier (great service by the way) mainly for testing purposes and at this price there's not much to lose.

It does what it says on the tin really, its a tiny little thing, just longer than a small match box and nearly half the thickness.

When used with a portable source, in my case an older 4th Generation iPod classic, it does show a noticeable boost in volume, not a huge change but a change non the less(its worth bearing in mind that this was with my fairly easy to drive Audio Technica AD700s I imagine harder to drive phones would benefit slightly more for using an amp). The sound itself did have slightly more bass than without it which can be a good or bad thing depending on your choice of 'phones in my case it was a fairly welcome addition.

The only downside is that it runs purely on batteries and unless you have your own re-chargeable AAA you're going to burn through them pretty fast, for this reason I'm more than likely going to purchase its bigger brother, the E5, as well.

For the money I can't really fault it, a couple of re-chargeable AAAs would be a good bet though.

Just the Job!, 2010-08-27
I had a good clear-out/declutter which included getting rid of a sound system which was out of the ark! Most of my music is on my Ipod these days, but I wanted still to have the facility to play all my old records/tapes/cds. I already had numerous stand-alone units and didn't want to buy yet another low cost combined system. This wee thing is just what I was looking for! Inexpensive, sound quality is good and it was easy to set up and get working. Just the job!!

SONOS ZonePlayer 120 Amplifier

Excellent music player, 2010-08-19
Had this for a month or so now. It produces a wonderful sound paired with some Diamond 10.1 speakers. Sound quality is surprisingly good despite the relatively low quality mp3's I'm playing through it. The iTouch driven controller works really nicely. I'm making particularly frequent use of the internet radio stations and ability to search for recorded shows or stations.

My only surprise was to discover that I had to have at least one of my Sonos devices hard wired to my router (not a problem giving their coincidental close proximity).

That aside, I thoroughly recommend it. Its very simply to use, works well and sounds great.
