Its refreshing to find out that these items are still being manufactured. Being of "senior years" one finds it impossible to get a grip with the new things like Ipods etc etc. Even CD can't bring the pleasure the tapes do as you can start where you left off. Long may tape Walkmans rule!

I have had this Walkman for a couple of months now and it has suited my needs. I chose this unit based on previous reviews and knowledge of Sony products. I mainly use it for watching iPlayer - it helps to ease the boredom at the gym! The download procedure could not be easier (select "portable devices" under More Downloads, save to desktop then drop & drag into Sony Content Transfer window which automatically opens when you connect the player to the computer - simples!). The picture quality is fantastic. I would have liked a bookmark facility though as you can only return to where you left off in a programme if you have not used another feature in the meantime - this can be frustrating. I use "in ear" headphones and have no issues with volume or quality of sound. For music, the sync facility with Media Player works a treat and also takes the album art across to the Walkman which it doesn't seem to do using simple drop and drag. The picture viewer is also very good. I have not used the radio or record facilities so cannot comment on them. The NWZS544B suits my purpose very well and is a product I would recommend.

I found the sound of my 5th generation Nano very bland regardless of 'phones or earbuds I tried. I decided to try this Sony
which received many compliments from Amazon customers and elsewhere.

This Sony player produces, a very musical sound with plenty of detail, freshness and realism especially on a good set of headphones such as the Sennheiser HD595 or similar. I will use the nano for radio which it does excels I am pleased to find.

Unless the opposition can match the Sony incredible sound this will the way to go for me from now on.

Wow! What a superb mp3 player. Compared to one I had to take back to the shop (another brand) this is a breeze. So easy to transfer music to, it seems to do it automatically without having to perform all sorts of obscre manouvers. The sound quality is also superb. When I first listened to it, I just sat there with my mouth open! Amazing! I am so pleased that I chose this mp3 after reading another lady's review.
I don't see how anyone could improve on it.

I bought this MP3 player to replace my long-lasting Creative Zen. I've only had it a few days but already it impresses on a number of fronts.

Several other reviewers have criticised the low volume but to me it seemed fine - the default setting for the volume limiter is off, and it seemed just as loud as my old player. I would recommend playing with the Equalizer settings at first, but the sound is great.

I had a few hitches uploading my music library at first - I used the Content Transfer software to upload all my music but I had a couple of problems with music not uploading or being uploaded twice. This was easily sorted out in Windows Explorer though. I would recommend using Media Player, just because it lets you sync playlists.

I was most impressed by the screen quality - a really clear picture when watching videos. Even though the screen is small I can watch programmes comfortably. Uploading BBC iplayer programmes was so simple too.

Overall I have no major complaints about this MP3 player. I am very happy with my purchase. A few minor issues, like not being able to create playlists on the machine and the slightly cheap feel of the buttons, are all that stop me from giving it 5 stars.

Was a bit put off by a number of negative reviews for this product, but purchased it anyway and have not been disappointed. I rarely read manuals (!), so rely on the equipment being logical and easy to use. This MP3 player was eactly that- and I was up and running in no time. Can't believe I wasted so much time with my previous Archos MP3 player. This Sony Walkman is easily the best MP3 Player I've owned!

This is great for what I need it for - at the gym and pootling about. Volume is good enough with the bass function activated. Works with the pc very easily. It's been through a complete washing machine cycle and spin dry, and still works just the same. Very good value.

I purchased this for my grand daughter and since her brthday she has not put the Walkman down. I loaded it with songs from the shows which she loves and was amazed at how easy it operates.If a child of 6 years can operate it -it must be easy.A good purchase.We love it.

I did not but this for myself, but after using it a few times I've decided to ditch my Zune and get a Sony X Series!!!

Aside from the great sound, easy to use interface and compact size the thing that i like most is that sony don't force you to use proprietary software to use their devices. An MP3 player the way it should be!!!
