Had this player for nearly a year now. I'm very impressed with the blu-ray picture quality, had no problems playing the latest titles. Firmware upgrades can easily be burnt to a blank CD. I have previosuly owned an expenesive Denon DVD / SACD player and a similar Yamaha, both refused to play some shop bought BBC DVD's. My PC couldnt even play the Faulty Towers Disc, but I tried it in this Sony Blu-ray player and it played perfectly! The sound quality of the HD audio discs is also superb. I was less impressed with the menu & controls when it was used as a basic CD player but it played the discs well enough, I cant really complain at this price. A little slow to eject the disc when first switched on but that doesn't matter as it playes all the discs without jumping or freezing.

This is a DVD player that does not have a tray for the disk but instead opens the top - like on a CD mini system.

This is good if you have small kids because they cannot load drinks mats into the DVD slot or endlessly press the eject button on the tray until it breaks.

The DVD player part of it is fine, nothing exceptional but the remote is standard Sony superb and it does remember where you are on the DVD when it is switched off. This last feature is again good for parents returning to the second half of a film a few days after starting it :)

For anyone who hasn't got Sky+ or Virginmedia V+ this is a must. Combines perfectly with any television but especially Sony. The Seller was also extremely good too with practical helpful information.

This is a great product. Not cheap but an absolute lifesaver during our five hours drive to visit relatives. Our one year old watches Mickey Mouse and gives us peace all the way. Make sure baby can`t kick the buttons tho as it takes a while to re-boot.

I've just bought this system and it looks and sounds brilliant. I also bought the iPod dock but disappointingly I can't seem to activate the on screen iPod navigation which it clearly states as a feature (even shows a screen shot in the product blurb). I am wondering whether its because I have an old version Nano? Has anyone out there got this feature to work?
I would have given this great piece of kit five stars if the on screen iPod navigation had worked. KIV this system was originally sold at £600 and was What Hi-fi product of the year!

Sony BDPS350 Blu-ray Disc Player 1080p Full HD

Excellent blu-ray player and DVD player, 2010-01-16
This was my first blu-ray player. I have since upgraded to a bdps760. However the bdps350 was so good I'm not sure why I bothered.

bdps350: the good:
Uses hardly any power. Mine only used 15 watts of power while playing a blu-ray with lots of action in.
It up-scales DVDs better than any player I have seen to date.
Very quiet when playing a disk.

The bad:
Nothing really. The player is quite slim and small. If you want a big chunky player you will have to spend more money.

Great litle machine, 2010-02-13
We wanted an inexpensive replacement for our old machine which had finally given up. As we haven't yet got a HD television there was little point in paying for an expensive Blu-ray machine and we didn't need to record as we have a BT box thing to do this. After quite a lot of online research we went for the Sony, to a large extent because of the small size. It looks much nicer than it does in the picture and it really is very small and neat. It was easy to set up and works well with both music and DVD. The picture quality has been very good and the buttons are easy and work well. I haven't yet tried discs we have recorded ourselves. My only very minor criticism is that while the middle 'doors' shiny finish looks great it does tend to attract the dust. It's small, sexy, does the job well, plays lots of formats and doesn't cost a lot. What more do you want?
