This is a nice looking DVD player and that is what I have given the 5 stars for. I did not play it as unfortunately I ordered it thinking it was a CD player and so it did not suit the purpose for which I bought it, if it had been I would definately had kept it.

I just wanted a simple compact DVD player at a reasonable price. This is perfect, fits my space nicely, good picture/sound quality and great value for money. I love it.

After waiting patiently my whole life for a decent set of speakers, I found that this set were in fact the perfect match for my Sony KDL40V4000.

My living space just looks awesome now, and the first time I heard the 5.1 dolby surround sound bouncing off the back of my head, through the playstation - I was just dumbstruck! (Surround sound had only really been a myth to me, except for the occasional cinema visit...)

If you're fond of tampering with gadgets, the auto calibration system is a delight to familiarise yourself with! I'm now in love with listening to all my peripherals through optical cables!

Only had one small problem so far - lost the surround on the back, probably something to do with the distance between the transceivers on the front and the back amps - but once I ran another calibration, the system was working fine again. It's really great to not have to worry about trailing wires all around the room as well...

Awesome sounds, awesome product! Would highly recommend these big speakers to complement your LCD - it truly is like having a Cinema in your own home!

This Sony DVDR is simply the easiest piece of kit with clear and logical uses. Use the operations handbook as a guide, some of the action described are eroneous and in fact when it says you can't do this, you can and when it says it does this, it doesn't. So far to the betterment of the player/recorder. For instance, it bangs on about making copies for editing the recordings, pah, it does not make copies, you edit live recordings when editing titles, deleting chapters, editing within chapters (A-B editing) no copies, just original recording. A bit hairy to keep up with the editing, but worth it and saves time. Bangs out DVD-R 4.6G in less than 7 mins. However, DVD+R disks (cheaper) are burnt in realtime, recording 74 mins, burning takes 74 mins. This is a top peice of kit for the first timer or more experienced user.

Couldn't help but get this for the 200 sheets that it was being offered at! Looks supreme and the sounds is sweet for music, film and sport lovers - you'll hear everything the crowd say and you'll never miss a sound when watching the PREDATOR!!! Awesome system, sounds good, looks great and a must for any complimentary plasma/lcd flattie...highly recommended!

Sony BDPS350 Blu-ray Disc Player 1080p Full HD

Excellent blu-ray player and DVD player, 2010-01-16
This was my first blu-ray player. I have since upgraded to a bdps760. However the bdps350 was so good I'm not sure why I bothered.

bdps350: the good:
Uses hardly any power. Mine only used 15 watts of power while playing a blu-ray with lots of action in.
It up-scales DVDs better than any player I have seen to date.
Very quiet when playing a disk.

The bad:
Nothing really. The player is quite slim and small. If you want a big chunky player you will have to spend more money.

Upscaling on this is pretty good for the cash. It's played every divx file I've tried on it & the way it 'remembers' where you stop a film is fantastic. I definitely recommend this player.

This was a fab replacement for my daughter TV/DVD combo when the DVD part player gave up. She loves the colour (PINK!) and it is a very easy item to use. Unusual shape but much better than a flat bigger version for her! Great quality and a good price, lets hope this last longer than the DVD player on her TV! :-)
