Just what I wanted to carry with me when away from home. The "Instant On" facility has been a very wellcome suprise and works quickly and well (including SD cards). You need to understand that there will be quite alot of upgrading for the first day - so give yourself plenty of time when you first start it - It's Vista Home Premium so if your already used to that on your current computer it will be just the same (so no new windows 7 to learn). Definately worth it if you this is what you need. My only neg is that the sound is a bit like a mobile phone when you use the built in speakers(its sterio though)but very very good when used with external speakers or with the two forms of media sharing(Sony Vaio and Windows Media player).

i have bought several remote controls over the years.but this is the best due to the learning function it can learn so many new commands wich is what i have been looking for as i have so many differnt branded bits of kit.bought a one for all remote very expensive but could only learn 50 new commands.this is 100 times better and cheaper and easier to use.

Very responsive mouse. You hardly have to move it and it still goes any where on the screen. Very fast; although the speed can be changed. It looks very stylish too. My desk looks much better without the cables. The only thing that is annoying about this mouse is that when you haven't used your computer for a while and then start using it again, it can take a short while for the mouse to connect to the computer again. You have to press the connect button on the mouse and wait a short while. But the good points of this mouse outweigh this downside.

Very pleased after 2 months, 2009-01-05
I thought I'd wait for a while before I posted a review of this but in daily use for several hours a day over 2 months I have been extremely pleased with this laptop for home use.
First of all it looks and feels good. It is sleek and lightweight yet also solid and just good quality.
It picked up my wireless connection and was online literally out of the box and since then has never dropped the connection once.
I'm probably not the heaviest user of all it's capabilities but when I've been running multiple programs together it has always been perfect. I have not played games on it.
I also find the keyboard great, just solid and easy to use.
Overall I just find using it a pleasure and I'm very pleased with this purchase.
